How to record a great 30-second video resume on your phone

A short video helps employers trust you before they call. You do not need a fancy phone.

1. Stand in good light, facing a window. Keep a plain wall behind you. 2. Hold your phone steady at face height, or ask a friend to hold it. 3. Say your name, your trade and how many years you have worked. 4. Say which languages you speak and where you can work. 5. Show your ID card to the camera for 2 seconds at the end.

Keep it between 30 and 90 seconds. Speak slowly and smile — you can record it again as many times as you like before uploading.
